this is how it is - Disobedient Manifesto

Man is born disobedient. That is the basic condition for man to develop and survive in this world. If we choose to obey, our own thought will atrophy, slavery will come upon us and our soul withers away. Disobedience is our oasis. Disobedience is our weapon.

Disobedient will create critical reviews of the arts of stage; we will create both touching and shocking theatre and ask uncomfortable questions on the way. We shall speak about our experiences, acknowledge the meetings we have and open up for a critical discourse of what we see as reality. Combined with the music, the written word and the existing room, we will create a visual and a tangible feeling that influence the human introspective ability. We wish to give our audience power to find a way to empathy, tolerance and mutual understanding in every day-life that we choose to produce. We refuse to accept standard opinions as the truth without first reaching for answers in the opposite. One of our assignments is to always ask our self and our audience of where we’re at.

Disobedient do have an artistic ambition and a method of re-searching amongst our every day-life, a presentation of a problems of which we choose to interpret. We refuse to become slaves within the establishment, which by fear delivers predictable high-sounding empty phrases. We demand our rights to the established stages to spread our artistic message.

USE YOUR OWN BRAIN!

Disobedient has no communistic, feministic nor religious dogmatic agenda, we do believe to act as a valve for human valuations. One could call Disobedient a political group, but our agenda isn’t political only human. We avoid the stereotype and stand a-side to value every single question.

Disobedient want to portray those human fates that other theatre groups by some reason avoid. We wish to examine the dark sides of being, search for the nuances of human abyss and present this in a just frame. We are curious of what’s not seen by man eyes, but hides amongst standard phrases and attitudes.

Disobedient chooses to act as an antithesis against the ordinary theatre groups and institutions that are using the Classics only for the pleasure of making theatre. We do have demands on our audience. We are in no need to flirt with our audience; they choose to follow us and are open-minded in our common vision of an un-usual every day-life, in a reality seldom seen.
By just reasons we recon everybody need theatre. To stand free and to avoid normal behavior when speaking of money, it’s obvious that our audience pay what they can afford. “It’s not my Kharma, it’s yours” Truthfulness is a virtue.

Disobedient promises always to remind our surroundings of our existence by market actions, happenings and performances.
